Genova Diagnostics

GI Effects Comprehensive Stool Profile

This is one of the most comprehensive stool tests currently on the market. It provides immediate, actionable clinical information for the management of gastrointestinal health. Biomarkers are grouped and scored in 5 key areas relating to GI function:•

  • Maldigestion
  • Inflammation
  • Dysbiosis
  • Metabolite Imbalance
  • Infection
Suitable when:
The GI Effects Comprehensive Stool Profile can reveal important information about the root cause of many common gastrointestinal symptoms such as gas, bloating, indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, and constipation. This stool analysis utilises biomarkers such as faecal calprotectin to differentiate between Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. In addition, Genova’s GI Effects test can be used to evaluate patients with a clinical history that suggests a gastrointestinal infection or dysbiosis.
NutrEval® Profile
NutrEval is Genova’s most comprehensive nutritional evaluation and is designed to assist with the management of symptoms related to nutritional deficiencies. This profile assesses numerous metabolic pathways and synthesises this complex biochemistry into actionable treatment options. Critical nutrients that are functionally assessed on Genova’s nutritional profiles include:
  • Antioxidants
  • B Vitamins
  • Minerals
  • Essential Fatty Acids
  • Digestive Support

The personalised supplement recommendations, adjusted for the age and sex of the patient, guide therapeutic protocols in identifying clinical imbalances that may inhibit optimal health.

The complete NutrEval FMV includes:

  • Metabolic Analysis (urine organic acids)
  • Urine Amino Acid Analysis (essential and non-essential amino acids, plus intermediary metabolites)
  • Essential and Metabolic Fatty Acids (red blood cell essential and non-essential fatty acids, including Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids)
  • Oxidative Stress Analysis (blood and urine biomarkers indicative of oxidative stress)
  • Elemental Markers (both nutrient and toxic elements)

SIBO Test | Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth
SIBO is a common clinical condition and can develop in a variety of patient populations.
Genova’s SIBO Profiles are non-invasive breath tests which capture exhaled hydrogen (H2) and methane (CH4) gases following patient ingestion of a lactulose solution to evaluate bacterial overgrowth of the small intestine. Levels of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) are also measured in every sample for quality control purposes.

Conditions commonly associated with SIBO include:

  • IBS
  • IBD
  • Coeliac Disease
  • Diabetes
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Rosacea
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Obesity
Adrenal Stress Profile | Assessing Stress Response and Resiliency

The Adrenal Stress Profile (ASP) provides an assessment of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis using carefully timed salivary samples of the hormones cortisol and DHEA. Salivary testing is an easy, non-invasive option to measure unbound, biologically active parent hormone levels. The report offers an easy-to-interpret graphic which plots the results of cortisol’s natural diurnal rhythm.

The symptoms of HPA axis dysfunction can be vague, and are highly variable, but may include: fatigue, insomnia, weight gain, depression, GI complaints, and chronic pain. HPA axis dysfunction is associated with many conditions including:

  • Hypertension
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Gastrointestinal and immune
  • Dysregulation
  • Diabetes and metabolic syndrome
  • Depression
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Persistent pain
  • Neurodegenerative disease
  • Cognitive

Adrenal Stress Profile testing can reveal these HPA axis imbalances and provide direction for clinical intervention with targeted therapeutic treatments, such as nutrient support and/or adaptogens, stress management, behavioural modification, and lifestyle interventions.

Thyroid Plus

This test is a more cost effective way of combining the Total Thyroid Screen with Reverse T3 to give the full picture of thyroid health status. Thyroid imbalances have far-reaching effects and elicit fatigue, depression, coldness, constipation, poor skin, headaches, PMS, dysmenorrhea, fluid retention, weight gain, anxiety/panic attacks, decreased memory and concentration, muscle and joint pain, and a low sex drive.

Regenerus Labs

Dutch Complete | Hormone Imbalance

DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) Complete can help identify the root causes of hormone imbalances in men and women.

It can provide insights into conditions such as the menopause, PCOS, weight gain, fatigue, low libido, premenstrual syndrome, mood swings, sleep issues, mood disorders and prostate issues in men.

Additionally, the test can be used to gather baseline measurements for the administration and monitoring of hormone replacement therapy.

The profile analyses 35 different hormones; oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA-S and cortisol along with their metabolites. It also measures daily free cortisol, the oxidative stress marker 8OHdG, melatonin and six organic acids including markers for vitamin B12 (methylmalonate), vitamin B6 (xanthurenate), glutathione (pyroglutamate), dopamine (homovanillate), norepinephrine/epinephrine (vanilmandelate), and serotonin (5-hydroxy indole acetate).
